Testosterone Deficiency Happens to Us All!

Testosterone deficiency affects nearly all men at some point in their lives. Some men experience declining testosterone by age 35 or even earlier.

Symptoms of testosterone deficiency:
• Fatigue
• Lack of libido
• Irritability
• Feeling of depression
• Poor sleep
• Erectile decline and/or dysfunction
• Muscle loss
• Weakness

These symptoms can be severe and lead men to seek treatment for depression, sleep disorders, or erectile dysfunction. We urge men to have their levels checked. Medications for depression, sleep issues, and erectile dysfunction often have side effects that are not desirable. Testosterone replacement may relieve the symptoms and allow men to avoid these medications.

What is Andropause and how is it different from Menopause?
Andropause is the natural gradual decline in a man’s testosterone level after the age of 22 to 30, at an average of 1–2% per year. Symptoms are often not noticed because of this gradual decline. Menopause, by contrast, is the natural rapid decline in estrogen when a woman reaches the average age of 52. Within a few years, women can lose 50% of their estrogen, which causes the usually rapid onset of mood swings and many other symptoms.

The symptoms of testosterone deficiency can be so gradual that men don’t even realize how bad things have gotten until they get treatment and feel better. All too often, men are dragged into our office by their wives. The wife or partner may notice the changes in mood, sleep, and erectile function even when the man doesn’t realize how bad it has gotten. Testosterone deficiency can have ruinous effects on relationships, employment, and health.

Get your levels checked. Get treated and feel like yourself again fast!

Testimonial

Tom, 7/2019
Actual Testosterone Pellet Therapy Patient

My wife and I had been married for 25 years when we heard about Dr Bloy’s pellet hormone replacement therapy from our friends. Both the husband and wife were being treated and we heard a lot of great results that they were getting. I mean they were raving about it!

I knew my wife definitely wanted to check out the program based on the results her friend had and the years of battling the lack of hormones. For me, I was interested in doing some research first because I wanted to know if it was really safe.

After doing some research, I really wanted to know what our hormone levels were. So, we called Dr Bloy’s office and we both got lab slips emailed to us to get our blood drawn and we made appointments to review the results 10 days later.

We then met with Fawn, Dr Bloy’s nurse practitioner to weigh in and check our Body Mass Index (BMI). Then we were off to the private room to review the results, and together we discovered that my wife’s hormone levels were almost non-existent. She wasn’t surprised at all. My testosterone was normal based on age (49) but then they explained what “normal” meant in regards to testosterone. It meant my body was not operating at full efficiency or operating how it could be.

The next step was to discuss our symptoms. Fawn worked with each of us together and then separately to get unbiased answers to some basic questions to ensure we felt comfortable talking about any issues. The questions were really helpful because Fawn helped me uncover areas that I didn’t really realize I had symptoms in.

For me, I really wanted to increase my energy. I travel a lot for work and also have a stressful job. So, high work performance and feeling well is really critical for me to meet the requirements of my job. I was also looking to eliminate that tired afternoon feeling that came with some difficulty focusing and getting my work done. I realized I also had started to feel some aches and pains when I woke up every morning and was having difficulty sleeping or staying asleep. I knew I was only getting about 6 hours of sleep every night and lacked the REM cycles I really needed based on the reports on my sleep app on my Iwatch.

My weight was also above where I wanted it to be and I wanted to lose weight and increase my lean muscle mass. So, for me, I figured I would try it to combat those things and if my sexual performance and weight loss improved then it would be worth it.

For my wife, she wanted to increase her sexual desire, increase lubrication, reduce her mood swings and lose some weight too. So, we decided to do the pellets that day!

My wife’s results were amazing in all areas! We both noticed a difference within a week or so. For me the energy levels went way up and I no longer have to rely on as much caffeine in the afternoon when I feel like I should take a nap instead of working. My thinking clarity went back to normal, I was able to think clearly again, and I started to lose some weight. My desire to work out has increased. I now sleep 8 hours most nights and I have my REM sleep back!

The attraction I had to my wife was already great but with the testosterone levels of an 18 year old, my attraction increased tremendously and it was energizing… not to mention the frequency of sex went up! My sexual performance increased too and together we are really feeling the benefits.

I can’t imagine life without my pellets now and my wife feels the same! We love your team of professionals and enjoy having our own personal experts helping us. Your husband and wife team of Fawn and Del are amazing! Thank you Dr. Bloy for changing our lives!

FAQs

Female Pellet Therapy Insertion is $399 lasting 3-5 months

Male Pellet Therapy Insertion is $699 lasting 5-6 months

Labs and additional medical visits are not included in the insertion cost. Labs and many medical visits are often covered by your health insurance at little or no out of pocket cost to you. Lab fees are payable directly to the lab of choice and not to us. Uninsured patients are charged $125 for office visits and lab fees at the lowest possible cost in our office. We make every effort to keep the costs low and order only the most comprehensive lab tests without resulting in excessive costs to our patients. We want pellet therapy to be as affordable to all who need it!

Unlike creams, pills, and patches, pellets deliver more consistent and healthy levels of hormones into the body. Pellets are absorbed over the course of 3-5 months for women, and over the course of 4-6 months for men. Pellets are ideal because they avoid the delivery fluctuations experienced with other hormone delivery systems.

Additionally, these natural hormones don’t increase the risk of blood clots in the same way as synthetic hormones. Pellet therapy maintains an extremely high success rate, even for patients who have tried other systems of hormone therapy with little or no results.

Estrogen pellets help to maintain your body’s ideal balance of estradiol. This not only regulates your mood and restores sleep patterns, estradiol pellets can also relieve menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, as well as improved sexual drive and even help to maintain ideal bone density. For women, estrogen pellets have been shown to treat migraines, menstrual headaches, incontinence, vaginal dryness, and urinary urgency.

Testosterone pellets are used in both men and women, and will increase your lean body mass (strengthening muscles and bone density) and decrease your fat mass.

The most common response from our patients about pellet therapy is that it has restored their quality of life. With Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, both men and women may experience the following benefits:

Decreased Body Fat
Increased Muscle Strength and Endurance
Restored or Increased Sex Drive
Relief from Depression and Anxiety
Increased Energy Levels
Greater Focus and Mental Clarity
Relief from Hot Flashes, Night Sweats, and Insomnia

Before hormone pellets are administered, we’ll draw your blood and send it to the lab for analysis. This will allow us to establish baseline hormone levels in your system. We can then determine the optimal hormone dose on an individual basis.

For women, we will measure testosterone, free testosterone, estradiol, and follicle-stimulating hormone. Levels of thyroid hormone may also be checked.

For men, testosterone, prostate specific antigen, estradiol, blood count, and liver profile levels will all be checked.

For men, testosterone levels are highest in the morning. So it’s best to have your levels checked earlier in the day. For women, levels are more consistent throughout the day so they may be checked at any time. If you are still having your period, hormone levels should be checked a week prior to, or after your period.

After your ideal hormone levels are determined and pellets are administered, your levels will need to be checked again after one month.
The pellet therapy procedure is simple, quick, and painless. After administering a local anesthetic, pellets are inserted usually in the upper hip area through a tiny incision. Following the insertion, we’ll put a Band-Aid on the incision are and send you on your way.

Many patients begin feeling positive effects as soon as 24-48 hours following insertion. For other patients, results may be felt in a week or two. While hormone balance plays a key role in achieving optimal health, proper diet, regular exercise, and stress management are also important.

Because they’re made of only natural compounds, pellets will be completely absorbed by your body. This means there will be no residue, no bumps, and no sign of them at the injection site. For women, pellets will last between 3 and 4 months. While for men, pellets last for 4 to 6 months.

Occasionally, a booster pellet could be inserted, if necessary. This is sometimes needed due to differences in activity level, stress level, your body’s own hormone depletion, and individual metabolism from patient to patient. This is the reason we’ll measure your hormone levels again after one month from your original pellet insertion.

Yes! Testosterone levels begin to decline for men in their early thirties. By age 45, or before, testosterone levels in most men are low enough that they would benefit from pellet therapy. Regardless of age, however, you should have your hormone levels checked if you show any signs of hormone deficiency:

  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Bone Loss
  • Mental Decline
  • Difficulty Sleeping
If you’re experiencing low libido, sexual dysfunction, pain during intercourse, or lack of sexual desire, these could all be signs of hormone deficiency. Achieving optimal hormone balance can restore your quality of life by greatly improving sexual function, interest, and enjoyment.
Yes! Estrogen pellet therapy has shown great success in dramatically reducing hormone-related migraines and headaches.
A common cause of hair loss is suboptimal hormone levels. Pellet therapy can absolutely help to re-grow hair.

Testosterone hormone is the dominant sex hormone in men, whereas a women rely on estrogen, progesterone and testosterone hormones.

Through the natural process of aging, men experience a loss of testosterone. As testosterone levels decrease, it can lead to an array of symptoms.
Low testosterone is linked to many symptoms, which can vary in severity. These include low libido, erectile dysfunction, brain fog, fatigue, hair loss, decreased muscle mass, depression, and more. These symptoms can cause a man’s quality of life to decline significantly.
A man will normally have total testosterone levels that range from 350-1000 nano-grams per deciliter. However, there is also a measure known as free testosterone, which encompasses the number of hormones that are active in the body at any given time. In some cases, a man may have normal total testosterone levels but suffer from Low T symptoms if his free testosterone levels are low.

Testosterone levels between 350 ng/dL and 1,100 ng/dL are referred to as “normal” range. This is a wide range and their is a lot of variability among individuals. Men who once had a peak testosterone level of 1000 ng/dl will likely experience severe symptoms at 500ng/dl. Therapeutic levels, the levels that allow for optimal well being, are generally on the higher end and not found in many men over the age of 40-50. In fact, men in their 30s and 40s are often deficient and feel the results of sub optimal levels and low T.

Testosterone therapy can be done using an array of methods. These options include a skin patch, which is applied to the skin once a day, gels, which are absorbed through the skin, a mouth patch, or injections and pellets. Dr. Bloy will work with you to determine which form of treatment best fits your needs, lifestyle, and budget.
The proper method of testosterone delivery for you is a matter for your physician to determine; however, many find that some gels tend to be messy and less convenient than other treatment modalities. In addition, there can be a risk of unintentional transmittal to children or others with whom you may have physical contact with the use of gels. Testosterone patches can create a significant rash at the site of application, or do not stick well, especially in the summer months. Experience has shown that gels and patches may require dosage adjustments to obtain medically appropriate blood concentrations and some patients may never absorb enough testosterone from gels or patches to improve symptoms. These modalities often have a higher conversion to less desirable hormones in the process of transfer through the skin. Intramuscular testosterone injections are a good choice for some men because of their more reliable clinical effectiveness and convenience.
We find testosterone pellet therapy to be the most consistent, effective, long lasting and reliable form of replacement therapy, but some men do not prefer this method and elect to receive testosterone injections instead. Testosterone injections are the next best choice. We offer weekly injection therapy customized to meet your individual needs and treat your deficiency.
While some athletes may use anabolic steroids which contain testosterone, these steroids often contain very high doses and are mixed with other substances. Testosterone therapy only contains natural levels of hormones, making it a safe and effective treatment for Low T.
Undergoing Low T Therapy can positively impact many aspects of a man’s life. Because low T can cause an array of health issues such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, osteoporosis, and more, testosterone is a major player in a healthy body. Healthy levels of testosterone are also linked to a longer life expectancy in men.
Comprehensive lab work is necessary to begin treatment at our office. We provide excellent medical care and closely monitor our patients testosterone levels and dosages to assure their health and safety. The lab work is often covered by your health insurance at your covered lab. This lab work when done at our office is $198 for the initial labs and $149 for follow up labs whenever they are needed or you request them.

The initial medical assessment and any office visits are $125 each, but are often covered by your insurance provider.

Testosterone Injections are 1 @$50, 4 @$180, 8 @$320. This includes the testosterone, the injection and the anastrozole medication as needed, if needed.
